I’m super excited about doTERRA Australia’s newest release, the Yoga Collection.
It consists of a trio of 5ml essential oil blends – Affirm Centering Blend, Anchor Grounding Blend and Ascend Enlightening Blend.
According to doTERRA,
“These blends provide aromas to steady, centre and enlighten you spirit through every breath while strengthening and stretching your body.”
But what if I don’t do Yoga?
Yes, I confess. I don’t do Yoga. But I LOVE these blends. I might even be so bold as to state that they are three of the most gorgeous blends I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling.
Whoa that’s a big claim, I know! But seriously folks, just because I don’t do yoga doesn’t mean that I can’t experience the benefits of the Yoga Collecton.
In fact, I like to consider the Yoga Collection oils as an extension of doTERRA’s Emotional Aromatherapy oils.
Cheer, Motivate, Passion, Console, Peace and Forgive, meet your new friends Anchor, Ascend and Affirm! It just makes perfect sense.

So, since I’m not using my Yoga Collection to master yoga poses, what am I doing with them? I’m diffusing them, adding them to my diffuser jewellery and my favourite roller-bottle blends, and I gotta say, I am loving them in the bath. More importantly, my kids are loving them in the bath. So I’ve been making these cute little bath salt cakes and using them in the bath to help my kids wind-down after a busy day.
I’ve been using this cute little sunflower mould which is available from our online store. You can check out the range here.
What you need
- 1/2 Cup Epsom Salts
- 1 tbsp bi-carb soda
- 1 tsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 1 tsp water
- 10-20 drops Essential Oils
- Natural Colouring
- Silicone moulds or cookie cutters
- Tray lined with grease-proof paper or silicone mat
Add Epsom salts and sifted bi-carb into a non-plastic bowl and mix well. Add wet ingredients and stir until fully incorporated. If you have added a lot of liquid colouring then you may need to add less water. Your mixture should be damp but not so soggy that the salt starts to dissolve.
Fill your silicone mould (or a cookie cutter on your paper-lined tray) with the salt mixture. Pack it down firmly, then slowly and carefully turn it out on to your tray (or lift the cookie cutter) to reveal a formed salt cake. If you shape starts to sag or melt it means your mixture is too moist. You can add more Epsom salt to the mixture to counteract this.
Set your salt cakes aside to dry overnight, then flip them over to dry for another 12 hours. Store them in a plastic zip-lock bag for colour and scent longevity. To use, drop two into a bath or one in a bucket for a relaxing foot soak. To give as a gift, place two salt cakes in a cellophane bag and tie off with a pretty ribbon.
